


The key ingredients of the film's failure are its underdeveloped story, an unengaging villain who is barely in it, the distinct lack of chemistry between its cast members, and an overall lame sense of humor. While the movie clearly tries to ape another Tim Allen film, Galaxy Quest, it ends up more like a pale imitation of the very superhero movies it's trying to satirize. Now he's back and Uncle Sam wants him stopped. Concussion went rogue years before and has been trapped in another dimension ever since. The team is part of a government operation aimed at stopping the villainous Concussion (Kevin Zegers), who is actually Zoom's kid brother Connor. The plot is simple enough: A former superhero named Captain Zoom (Allen) is called back to work to transform an unlikely group of ragtag youths (Spencer Breslin, Kate Mara, Ryan Newman and Michael Cassidy) into new heroes at a private academy.
